PLEASANT HOPE COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY

Mrs. Carrie Carr, Counselor

Mrs. Jeanne Weatherman, Office-Fed/Pro Clerk

Mrs. Betsy Mullings, R.N. Head Nurse

 Thank you!

The Pleasant Hope Counseling Department was very proud of the way our Community and Churches jumped on the band wagon to help our students with the large undertaking of stocking a food pantry.  With the economic difficulties many of our students and their families have experienced, our combined efforts have been a blessing to many people.  Our backpack program will continue throughout summer school.  Nurse Mullings was able to apply for an OCAC grant for backpack food only.  We were very grateful to OCAC for the grant to support our backpack program and add to the food items donated by the New Salem United Methodist Church.  Pleasant Hope United Methodist Church has donated food  and health items to our main pantry as well as a monthly check.  We have brought snack milk for Kindergarteners, shoes, fresh meats and produce, and milk and formula with this money.Son Rise Church donates on a regular basis with food as well.  Pleasant Hope Community Bank and Empire Bank have been strong supporters of this project.  Laney's LTD has a donation box for anyone to drop off food in the front of their store.  Thank you to everyone who donated their time, efforts and money to this project.
